Public visits
The Observatory of Épendes is open to the public free of charge.
Registration is mandatory, during the week before the visit.
Night-sky observation
| November to March | 7 pm to 9 pm |
|---|---|
| April, September and October | 9 pm to 11 pm |
| May to August | 10 pm to midnight |
Visits start punctually. In uncertain weather, if no visitors have arrived 30 minutes after the start, the visit is cancelled.
Guided observations with telescopes, lasting about 2 hours. You will learn to recognise the constellations and, depending on their visibility, observe the Moon and planets. When the sky is clear, nebulae, galaxies and star clusters are also on the programme.
In bad weather, a talk or a sky simulation is offered instead. Don't forget to dress warmly!
